About Barcelona

Futbol Club Barcelona, founded in 1899 by Joan Gamper and a mix of Swiss, Catalan, German and English footballers, is one of the most successful and widely supported clubs in the game. Playing in blaugrana blue and garnet, the club carries an identity beyond sport tied to Catalan culture and the motto més que un club, more than a club. Its list runs to 29 La Liga titles, a record 32 Copa del Rey wins and five European Cups.

The modern era was defined by the La Masia academy and by Lionel Messi, the club's leader in both goals (672) and appearances (778), with trebles in 2009 and 2015 built on Pep Guardiola's possession football. Under Hansi Flick the club has returned to the top of Spain, winning back-to-back La Liga titles in 2024/25 and 2025/26, the latter sealed with a Clásico win over Real Madrid.
