About Manchester City

Manchester City began in 1880 as St Mark's, a church team in Gorton, and spent most of a century as the city's other club. The 2008 Abu Dhabi takeover changed that, and Pep Guardiola's decade turned investment into an era: six Premier League titles in seven years, four in a row from 2021 to 2024, and the 2023 treble sealed with the club's first Champions League.

Guardiola's farewell season, 2025/26, ended with a domestic cup double, beating Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final and Chelsea in the FA Cup final, while the league title went to Arsenal in the final week. Enzo Maresca, once a Guardiola assistant, returned in June 2026 on a three-year deal to start the next chapter.

Recent form

Runners-up in 2025/26, pushed to the last week by Arsenal, but a domestic cup double crowned Guardiola's farewell: 2–0 against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final, 1–0 against Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Enzo Maresca arrived in June 2026 on a three-year deal, with Haaland still the reference point and £64m January signing Antoine Semenyo already decisive.
