About Leeds United

Leeds United were founded in 1919 from the ashes of the disbanded Leeds City, and their peak remains Don Revie's side of the late 1960s and early 1970s: champions in 1969 and 1974, FA Cup winners in 1972, twice winners of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, and contenders in nearly everything else. A third title came in 1992 under Howard Wilkinson, the last before the Premier League began.

The modern club belongs to 49ers Enterprises, the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers, who completed their takeover in 2023. Daniel Farke won the Championship in 2024/25 with 100 points, then kept Leeds up in 14th on 47 points in a first season back that swung from six defeats in seven to an eight-game unbeaten finish, with a first FA Cup semi-final since 1987 along the way. Work to grow Elland Road towards 53,000 has begun.
