About Everton
Everton were founded in 1878 as St Domingo's, a church team from Liverpool, and were founder members of the Football League in 1888. Nine league titles, five FA Cups and the 1985 Cup Winners' Cup followed, with Dixie Dean's 60-goal season of 1927/28 and Howard Kendall's mid-80s side the twin peaks. No club has spent more seasons in England's top flight.
The modern era turned on two moves: The Friedkin Group's takeover in December 2024, and the 2025 departure from Goodison Park, their home of 133 years, for the 52,769-seat Hill Dickinson Stadium on the Mersey waterfront. David Moyes, back since January 2025 for a second spell, took them to 13th in the new ground's first season.
