About Luis Enrique

Luis Enrique Martínez García was a driving midfielder-forward before he was a coach, winning La Liga at Real Madrid and then, after crossing Spain's fiercest divide, a haul of trophies across eight years at Barcelona, where he retired in 2004. He came back to Barcelona as manager in 2014 and won the treble in his first season: La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, adding the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup that same year.

After three seasons and three Copa del Reys he took charge of Spain, reaching the Euro 2020 semi-finals before stepping away in 2022. Paris Saint-Germain hired him in 2023, and in 2024/25 he delivered the club's first Champions League, beating Inter 5–0 in the final to complete a second treble, the only manager after Pep Guardiola to win one with two clubs. PSG retained the title in 2026, past Arsenal on penalties.
