About Jürgen Klopp
Jürgen Klopp made his name at Mainz 05, where he had been a one-club journeyman player, taking the side into the Bundesliga for the first time in its history in 2004. He moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2008 and built a fast, pressing team that won back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 and the German Cup, and reached the 2013 Champions League final, lost to Bayern Munich at Wembley.
He took over at Liverpool in 2015 and, after early final defeats, won the Champions League in 2019 and the club's first league title in 30 years in 2019/20. He left in 2024 after nine years, and in January 2025 joined Red Bull as Head of Global Soccer, an oversight role across its network of clubs rather than a return to the touchline.
