About Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard is an English former midfielder who spent nearly his entire career at Liverpool, joining as a boy and debuting in 1998. Over 17 seasons and 504 appearances he scored 120 goals, captained the side for a decade, and drove the comeback in the 2005 Champions League final, the night Liverpool recovered from 3–0 down to beat Milan on penalties in Istanbul.
He was a complete midfielder: driving runs, long-range goals and a ferocious will. Gerrard won 114 England caps between 2000 and 2014, captaining the side 38 times, though a league title always eluded him. He left for LA Galaxy in 2015 and retired in 2016, later moving into management.
